Change the Default Keep-Alive Time-Out in Internet Explorer (All Windows) Category: Home > Software > Internet Explorer > Network and Connections
When Internet Explorer establishes a persistent HTTP connection with a Web server it reuses the same TCP/IP socket until the connection is idle for one minute. This tweak allows you to change the time-out period which is useful if you experience connection problems. Open your registry and find the key below. Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value called 'KeepAliveTimeout' using the settings below. Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.
Disclaimer: Modifying the registry can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. We cannot guarantee that problems resulting from modifications to the registry can be solved. Use the information provided at your own risk.
