When Internet Explorer establishes a persistent HTTP connection with a Web server it reuses the same TCP/IP socket until the connection is idle for one minute. This tweak allows you to change the time-out period which is useful if you experience connection problems.

Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new DWORD value, or modify the existing value called 'KeepAliveTimeout' using the settings below.

Exit your registry, you may need to restart or log out of Windows for the change to take effect.

KeepAliveTimeout	REG_DWORD	0x0001D4C0 (120000)

Settings:

User Key: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
Internet Settings]
Name: KeepAliveTimeout
Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value: Time in milliseconds (default = 120,000)
